January's highlight of the month at our school was the elections of a super-friend. Each class chose among themselves a student who helps others with schoolwork or in case of troubles, defends and comforts others, is good-hearted and respects other people. It's great that students know that school is not only about academic achievement but also about learning how to be a good friend.

In January we celebrated two important events in our school. One of them was like every year, food collection for people in need, and the other was the celebration of Peace Day, in which, as is traditional, all students and teachers went out to the schoolyard to celebrate. This time 6th graders interpreted Bethoven's 9th symphony with their flutes. It was a very emotional moment because we remember all the people who are having a bad time because of the wars.
