We have just passed the middle of the month and we've already had a lot of activities in our school. First we've celebrated the Day of the Patron of the School on 11th of November. During the whole week we had a lot of famous guests form the Razgrad's newspapers and medias - journalists, radio presenters and newspaper's owner. All of them came for one lesson in Bulgarian language at our school - some of the topics were - Why to love the Bulgarian language?; Favorite authors; How to be more literate? and so on. The biggest surprise for our students was the guest on Friday, when, for one lesson, came the CEO of the football team Ludogorets - Angel Petrichev. Students were really very happy and had a lot of questions about their favorite team. After this event, a lot of newspapers, including one national, wrote about our "Week of the Bulgarian language". http://www.ekip7.bg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=20547&Itemid=1 https://www.24chasa.bg/sport/article/5868284 Here are links of some of the articles. They are in Bulgarian, of course, but still you can look at the pictures.
And when we say busy month we really mean it... We have completed our yearly organized competition "The Nature - a source of life" for different peaces of art, made by natural products. We had more than 130 competitors from different ages and cities... and it was really hard for the jury to chose who will be the winner. As you can see in the gallery... all of the pictures are amazing.....
Cyprus
9 years after the Turkish invasion in Cyprus, which led to the occupation of the one third of our island, on the 15th of November 1983, the leader of Turkish Cypriots proclaimed the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is only recognized by Turkey. For us Northern Cyprus is a part of our country and not a separate country. At school we organized a day dedicated to the conviction of the illegal nation TRNC. Children draw a banner wishing for peace in our country, sang relevant songs, learned about the soldiers that lost their lives in the invasion in 1974 and also made various crafts so as to remember the occupied area of our island. Also Eleni Mina, a teacher, came to our school and told the children the story of her father who died during the Turkish invasion and for many years his fate was unknown until his remains were found in an unmarked grave. Lastly the children had a lesson in a Red Cross tent to get an idea of how the refugees lived for months after they were chased away from their homes.

November Highlight of the Month in Primary School no 19 in Bialystok is the celebration of the Independence Day on 11th November. We enjoyed a lot an evening event with a school choir and singing old army songs! And also there was a senior lady who had been sent to Syberia and survived it!

Each year, our school carries out three different readings, one per term. There are twenty six readings all centred around the same topic. Twenty are read in Spanish by trainee teachers and five are read in English by teachers of English from our school. The school becomes a dedicated reading space where each class holds one of the readings. Each student chooses the one he or she likes best. Prior to the reading a range of activities are prepared. The students create an information poster which outlines the name of the reading and the room number, they tour around the school to see where the different readings will take place and the older ones tutor the youngest. It is an activity that all students enjoy and encourages the take up of Reading.
TURKEY
Teacher's day was celebrated in our school on the 24 th of October. As teachers, we were honoured by our parents' associaton. They organized a huge lunch for us. We loved our gifts a lot. During the lunch, the teachers danced and sang songs. Unfortunately, a national exam was held on that day, so we could not see our students as the schools were closed for education. In fact, a huge ceremony is held by our students every year. They sing songs, read and write poems for us.
ITALY Students were involved in the Lunar Mission, the most inspirational project since the Apollo landings and had the chance to reserve their place in space . Students had the opportunity to think critically and work collaboratively as they developed content for an epic record of ‘Life on Earth’. The project promoted studying of geography and environmental resources (economy, ecosystems, agricolture, fishing, tourism) and their evolution during the time. The activities were conducted realizing some missions to collect data like little interviews, researches, artistic competitions, photo treasure hunt, audio treasure hunt or video treasure hunt.
